If you are being interviewed for a job, fellowship, program, or anything like that, they will probably ask you if you have any questions for them about the program.
It looks bad if you don’t.
Therefore, it’s helpful as part of your preparation to come in prepared with some questions to ask. It’s better if they are real questions, but it’s ok if you already know the answers.
Part of the point is that you demonstrate familiarity with the thing you are applying for. People always like to feel like you want them specifically, rather than just wanting to be employed or given a scholarship or attending school generally.
