Two Headed Bishounen: Supporting people who are overly apologetic

realsocialskills:

Some people apologize all the time, for everything. This can be very annoying.

Here’s a conversation:

  • Mary: I like ice cream. I don’t want to order a slice of cake. I’m sorry.
  • Darlene: Dude, you don’t have to apologize!
  • Mary: Argh, I’m sorry about that.
  • Darlene:…

I usually say, “you’re cool” or “nothing too be sorry about, it’s cool.”
Or if it seems appropriate, just making it absolutely ridiculous and jokingly and obviously Judy going along with it, because I think a lot of the time my friend day it out if habit, came thru know it’s ridiculous, but they can’t not say it, do I just make it more ridiculous to try to make them laugh and bit feel embarrassed about it?
