dont preach a moral based around “x is bad except for y, z, w, a, b, j, k…” because you wont always be there to say what y, z, w, a, b, j, and k are and sometimes by treating people who do x like non-people you’ll scare people who think they might do x so much that they won’t want to ask for your guidance

I agree with you about the problem in principle, but I think some things are so important to discuss that they need to be said even when it runs the risk of treading into that territory.
I wish I knew how to handle it better, though, because pushing people to that place is awful and I don’t want to do that to people.
