Weighted blankets

Hi, I don’t know if this is the right place to ask this, but I’ve been thinking on getting a weighted blanket for a while.

The thing is, there are so many options (filler, outside material, etc.) and since I always find it hard to trust my own judgement, I can’t seem to be able to pick a…

I have an adult length weighted blanket from SensaCalm, and I absolutely love it. Their fabrics are all 100% cotton and pretty soft. They were also accommodating about sending me fabric samples before I ordered. They fill their blankets with polypropylene pellets, which according to the research I did beforehand is supposedly the best filler material. There’s also the option of having poly-fil stuffing inside, but I ordered mine without it and I think that was the better choice for me. My blanket always feels slightly cool to the touch, which is great in summer, and I personally really like the feel of the individual pellets (plus rolling them between my fingers is really soothing to me). If I need extra warmth, though, I’ll put another blanket underneath the weighted one. I like the adult length because I have the option of having it cover my whole body, or I can sit with it over my lap.

The only thing I would have done differently is to order my blanket a pound lighter. I ordered mine a pound heavier than what they recommended for my body weight because I like heavy pressure, and it’s good for calming me down, but slightly too heavy to sleep through the night with. I usually end up waking up and having to take it off. Usually it’s recommended that you order a blanket that’s 10% of your body weight, and based on my experience I think that’s a safe route to go.
